The service line should be free of all leaks, made of one-piece construction ¾ “K” copper or ¾ CTS (Plastic) psi 75 degrees with compression fittings ONLY at the curb stop and at the inside ball valve. The owner is responsible for the water service line from the curb box to the meter inside the property. The meter set once installed must be inspected by an agent of the Municipal Authority as to the proper installation/configuration. The installation of the meter set may be completed by the owner or a selected service representative or plumber. The meter set is the responsibility of the property owner and is comprised of all ball valves, the pressure regulator, and back flow preventer. The West Kittanning Municipal Authority will provide the water meter and install at no charge to the customer. The Pennsylvania Safe Water Act and PA Department of Environmental Protection have set the standards for the installation of the water meter along with the requirements for the meter set. A door hanger with contact information will be placed on the property for the owner to schedule an appointment.
